Job description

A leading Montreal-based children’s apparel company is seeking a Fashion Design Assistant to join our creative and collaborative team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and organized individual with strong sketching abilities, technical knowledge of garment construction, and experience creating tech packs and specifications.

Responsibilities :

  • Create and update detailed tech packs, including construction details, fabric information, and technical sketches
  • Develop accurate flat sketches by hand or using industry-standard software
  • Assist lead designers throughout the product development process
  • Participate in fit sessions, take notes, and work with the team to revise specs and patterns accordingly
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and overseas vendors to ensure product accuracy and timelines
  • Support daily administrative and creative tasks as needed

Requirements :

  • Diploma in Fashion Design from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience, preferably in children’s wear
  • Strong sketching and illustration skills (hand and / or digital)
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel
  • Solid understanding of garment specifications and construction
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
