Job summary

Autism Services is seeking a hands-on farm worker to operate heavy agricultural machinery and support large-scale crop production in Saskatchewan. You will plant, fertilize, spray and harvest crops, while maintaining equipment and ensuring safety compliance.

Experience with beans and related crops is a plus, and supervision of other staff may occur. The role requires a Class 5 driver's license and fluent English; a high school diploma or technical agricultural certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Farm knowledge and minimum 2 years of experience in agriculture practices.
  • Experience in large-scale crop production operations, including beans (chickpea, lentil, canola).
  • Must have a Class 5 Driver's license.
  • Fluent in English.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Technical certification in Agriculture preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate farm equipment, tractors, combines and other heavy machinery.
  • Plant, fertilize, spray, harvest crops and load/unload materials.
  • Soil preparation and field conditioning.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Adjust machinery for precise depth, spacing and application rates.
  • Monitor operations and detect malfunctions.
  • May supervise general farm labourers.
  • Follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities :
  • Operate farm equipment, tractors, combines, and other heavy agricultural machinery to till soil.
  • Planting, fertilizing, applying pesticides, harvesting crops, and load and unload crops or containers of materials.
  • Soil preparation and field conditioning
  • Perform equipment and machinery maintenance.
  • Adjusting mechanisms on machinery to ensure precise depth, spacing, and application rates
  • Monitor equipment and machinery operations to detect malfunctions.
  • Loading and unloading crops or materials
  • Follow safety procedures
  • May perform minor repairs to farm equipment and machinery.
  • May supervise general farm labourers.
Job Requirements:
  • Farm Knowledge and minimum 2 years of experience in agriculture practices, including soil preparation, seeding, spraying, and harvesting in large-scale crop production systems.
  • Interested to contribute to large-scale farming operations in Canada, specialized in beans operations like chickpea, lentil, canola and etc.
  • Must have Driver license (Class 5 )
  • Must been fluent in English
  • Prefer to have high school diploma
  • Prefer Technical Certification in Agriculture
