Job description

Job Summary: This role provides essential support in farm logistics, transportation, and seasonal operations. The individual is responsible for employee transport, assisting with harvest and field crop activities, recruiting and training workers, and ensuring efficient movement of materials such as compost and grain. This position plays a key role in both daily operations and workforce development. This role requires an individual who exemplifies the company values of humble, driven, and solutions-oriented.

Humble – Employees that are team players and are respectful of others and the job at hand. Great team players lack excessive ego or concerns about status. Humble employees are quick to point out contributions of others and slow to seek attention of their own.

Driven – Employees who are motivated and focused on self improvement. Driven or hungry employees are always looking for more. More things to do, learn, and take responsibility for. They never have to be pushed by a manager to work harder because they are self-motivated and diligent.

Solutions Oriented – Employees who focus on solving, and preventing problems from occurring, not just identifying them. This is equal parts of problems with systems and processes and the common sense that an employee has about people. They are aware, act appropriately, ask good questions, and listen to understand.

  • Operate automatic trucks for harvest logistics, grain transportation, and compost hauling.
  • Functional training and support of seasonal workers under the direction of management.

  • Maintain accurate transportation logs, safety inspection reports, and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with the maintenance teams to ensure timely vehicleand equipment repairs
  • Provide year-round support by being on-call for winter tasks including transportation of workers for non-orchard activities, assisting with equipment maintenance and preparation for the upcoming season, supporting orchard facilities upkeep, and being available to step in for seasonal workers' support or other farm operations as needed, ensuring smooth transition into the busy harvest period.
  • Take responsibility for the movement and setup of orchard equipment as requested by management in the absence of the Orchard & Harvest Operations Support role, ensuring that all equipment is in place and ready for harvest operations
  • Execute daily responsibilities to meet departmental goals while adhering to company values (Humble, Driven, Solutions-Oriented).
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve processes within the scope of the role.
  • Attend relevant department and company-wide meetings, including Level 10 meetings, contributing to organizational alignment and effectiveness.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to drive buses and heavy-duty trucks (likely requires a CDL, especially for transporting passengers).
  • Knowledge of local and federal transportation regulations.
  • Experience operating automatic trucks and agricultural machinery.
  • Basic vehicle inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance knowledge.
