Job summary

Pacific Community Resources Society (PCRS) is seeking a Family Peer Support Worker for Foundry Surrey Central in Surrey, BC. The role focuses on delivering integrated, family-centred care by leveraging lived caregiver experience to provide emotional, social and practical support to families.

You will assist with navigation, education, and accessing community resources, while supporting centre operations. The position requires flexibility, including occasional evenings, and offers a comprehensive

Qualifications

• Direct experience as a caregiver supporting a youth or young adult with mental health or substance use challenges and service navigation in local community.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings as needed.
• Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to engage with families and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Establishes a safe, supportive environment for families and caregivers at the Foundry centre.
• Provides direct on-site services to caregivers by offering support, guidance, and mentorship in information, navigation, education, resources and skill development.
• Models hope and shares lived experiences to support caregivers in achieving health and wellness goals.
• Facilitates engagement of families in focus groups, surveys, and related activities to build capacity and leadership.
• Collaborates with staff and partners to optimize relationships between families and service providers.
• Supports the development of peer support networks and participates in team meetings and documentation.
