Responsibilities of Family Support Worker
- Provide flexible and responsive support to address children, youth, family, or caregiver needs.
- Oversee and manage service plan goals and objectives.
- Provide care through individual program plans while respecting choices, decisions, and needs of families.
- Establish trusting relationships with families to assist them in developing interpersonal communication skills, daily living skills, and other areas of interest.
- Accommodate and respect cultural, social, and religious heritage.
- Collaborate and work as a team with community systems (e.g., schools), specialized service providers, volunteers, and extended family members.
- Conduct family visits in the community and be available for evening/weekend visits and standby as required.
- Prepare and submit reports according to specifications and deadlines.
- Adhere to protocols related to abuse and report safety concerns appropriately.
- Advocate for minimizing risks and promoting opportunities to enhance community, family, and individual support networks.
- Represent Taproot professionally and respectfully within our communities.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards, performing all program activities in accordance with Taproot policies, procedures, and accreditation standards.
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture is beneficial.
