A Primary Care Clinic is urgently looking for a Family Physician or Nurse Practitioner to work in the community.
We are able to offer a flexible FTE option, ranging from half a day to 1.0 FTE. While in-person services are desired, we are open to a mixed in-person/virtual consultation schedule as well. Payment for these shifts will be at the current MSP/DOBC sessional hourly rate, with the option of stepping into a PCN contract depending on availability. We do ask for a minimum 3-month commitment to support relationship development.
The clinic currently operates 5 days a week and is comprised of Family Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, a Patient Navigator, a Land-Based Healing Coordinator, and Traditional Healers. This team is supported administratively by a team of Medical Office Assistants, a Primary Care Manager, and the Health Department.
This Primary Care Clinic needs FPs and NPs with a strong interest in Indigenous health care. Interested Physicians and Nurse Practitioners should be experienced in providing culturally safe and trauma-informed medical care. Indigenous ancestry is an asset. We see this as an exciting opportunity for FPs and NPs wishing to expand their panels within Indigenous populations.
The FP and/or NP should be interested in working in a team format alongside nurses, mental health workers, Elders, and Traditional Healers. Ability to prescribe Opioid Agonist Treatment is an asset. We are willing to support funded training for practitioners wishing to learn OAT prescribing.
