Job Description

Kenora, ON, is the second-largest healthcare centre in Northwestern Ontario, located on the beautiful Lake of the Woods, just two hours from Winnipeg. Enjoy a vibrant town serving 32,000 residents year-round (up to 70,000 in summer), with opportunities to experience lake life year-round and develop a rewarding blended practice.

Choose the clinic that suits you! This opportunity allows you to join our current group of Family Medicine practitioners with a turnkey practice in one of three clinics, each offering a different environment. There is also an option to join the Emergency Department team and undertake hospitalist work.

The Opportunity

Positions are available at two of the three clinics within the Sunset Country Family Health Team (SCFHT), which includes Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Dietitians, Pharmacists, Chiropodists, and other specialists. Our clinics utilize the Telus PSS Electronic Medical Record system. New physicians are supported by our local physician group, specialists, and service organizations.

The Lake of the Woods District Hospital is an accredited teaching hospital offering emergency, ambulatory, mental health, maternal and child health, and acute care services, including general medicine, intensive care, surgery, and palliative care. It also provides outpatient services like dialysis, chemotherapy, diagnostic imaging, mammography, ultrasound, CT (MRI coming soon), visiting specialist clinics, addiction counseling, detoxification, a sexual assault program, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and education programs.

The Lake of the Woods Health Sciences Campus in Kenora is a designated Healthcare Hub and a Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) teaching site. Opportunities for preceptorship, faculty appointments, and research are available through our Local Education Group (LEG).

Remuneration

Remuneration is competitive and includes OHIP billing. Additional incentives include a $10,000 signing bonus and MOHLTC relocation grant (NRRRI) of $120,488 over four years, available with full-time, permanent commitments. Contact us for details tailored to your interests and practice goals.
