Job description

Kenora, ON, is the second largest healthcare centre in Northwestern Ontario, located on the beautiful Lake of the Woods, just two hours from Winnipeg. This opportunity is for individuals to join our current group of Family Medicine practitioners with a turnkey family medicine practice in one of our three clinics. Each clinic is different, allowing you to choose your perfect fit. Additionally, there is an option to join the Emergency Department group and other hospitalist work.

The Opportunity:

Opportunities are currently available at two of the three clinics with the Sunset Country Family Health Team (SCFHT). Your Family Medicine practice will be fully supported by the Sunset Country Family Health Team, which includes Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Dietitians, Pharmacy, Chiropody, and other specialties.

All clinics utilize the Telus PSS Electronic Medical Record. New physicians will find support from our local physician group, specialists, and service organizations.

About Lake of the Woods District Hospital:

An accredited teaching hospital offering emergency and ambulatory care, mental health, maternal and child health, and acute care services, including general medicine, intensive care, surgical services, and palliative care. It manages outpatient services such as dialysis, chemotherapy, diagnostic imaging, mammography, ultrasound, CT (MRI coming soon), visiting specialist clinics, addiction counseling and detoxification, sexual assault programs, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and education programs.

Education and Research:

The Lake of the Woods Health Sciences Campus in Kenora is designated as one of Northwestern Ontario’s Health Care Hubs and is a Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) teaching site. Opportunities for preceptorship, faculty appointments, and research are available through our Local Education Group (LEG).

Compensation:

Incentives:

A $10,000 signing bonus and MOHLTC relocation incentive grant (NRRRI at $120,488 over four years) may be available with a full-time, permanent commitment.

Requirements:
  • Current (or eligible to apply for) valid independent license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and valid CMPA coverage.
