We’re looking for coverage for a rural family physician maternity leave locum starting mid-to-end of May 2025.
Salary: $500 for each half-day clinic with 100% third-party billings + an additional $500 per week to cover administrative time for paperwork & Inbox management.
SPEND THE SUMMER OF 2025 IN BEAUTIFUL MUSKOKA
A full six-month locum is ideal, but we are flexible.
Our clinic is located at the Archdekin Medical Centre in Bracebridge (Muskoka), a two-hour drive north of Toronto.
The practice is affiliated with the Cottage Country Family Health Team, serving 1200 patients.
Currently, the physician practices five (5) half-days per week in the clinic. FHT after-hours clinic responsibilities are Tuesdays (1 in 4) and Friday evenings (1 every 16 weeks). However, you can build your own schedule as appropriate.
Currently, the physician is the MRP for her patients if they are admitted to South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (average around 2). Daily coverage is not required. Hospital nursing staff is excellent and calls appropriately. Weekend call coverage is 1 in 9 and split between other physicians in the FHT.
This locum can be clinic-only, or there are optional opportunities within the community to provide care – Hospitalist, ER, FM-OB, or palliative work at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (located adjacent to the clinic).
Currently, the clinic has a nurse on Tuesday mornings to do injections. If more nursing staff is needed, this can be arranged.
Clinic staff includes a dedicated MOA, who knows the patients very well.

While rural, we are well supported by specialists – internal medicine x2, cardiology, urology, general surgery x3, GP/Anesthesia x2, GP/OB x4. Excellent collegial atmosphere within and outside of the hospital.
