Job description

Exceptional part-time opportunity for a Family Practice Physician with additional experience and training in addiction medicine to join the mental health team at Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH).

The primary focus of this position is to support the Emergency Department and Inpatient units throughout PRH in assessments, managing withdrawal, and treatment related to substance use. You will work closely with the Substance Use Connections team within the hospital to treat and support patients presenting with substance use disorder.

The Consultation Service Scope Includes:
  • Alcohol Use Disorder
  • Opioid Use Disorder
  • Polysubstance Use Disorder
  • Concurrent Disorder
  • Opioid Agonist Therapy
  • Substance use withdrawal management
  • Support discharge planning in collaboration with the Substance Use Connections team

PRH is a teaching hospital academically affiliated with the University of British Columbia’s Southern Medical Program. There are opportunities for academic and research involvement, including clinical teaching with medical students and residents of the UBC Southern Medical Program.
