ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

NL Health Services – Eastern Rural Zone invites applications for four (4) permanent full-time Fee-For-Service Family Physicians to provide Long-Term Care services in St. Lawrence, NL.

The successful candidates will provide comprehensive medical care to long-term care residents, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.

Physicians are responsible for their own billings to the Medical Care Plan (MCP).

St. Lawrence is a welcoming coastal community on the Burin Peninsula in southeastern Newfoundland, known for its warm community spirit and stunning ocean scenery.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
• Eligible for licensure as a Family Physician with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
• Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide comprehensive medical care to long-term care residents
• Conduct assessments, manage chronic conditions, and provide palliative and end-of-life care
• Participate in on-call coverage as required
• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals
• Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements

REMUNERATION

Remuneration is Fee-For-Service in accordance with the Medical Care Plan (MCP) Fee Schedule. Physicians are responsible for their own billings to MCP.

Available Incentives: Candidates may be eligible for recruitment and retention incentives, subject to applicable terms, conditions, and program availability at the time of offer.
