Job summary

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine degree required.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure with the applicable provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Responsibilities

• Assessing patients, obtaining medical histories, and performing physical examinations.
• Diagnosing and treating acute illnesses, injuries, chronic diseases, and common medical conditions.
• Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other medical investigations.
• Prescribing medications and providing appropriate treatment plans.
• Providing preventive healthcare, including routine examinations, health screening, immunizations, and health-promotion counselling.
• Managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, cardiovascular disease, and other ongoing health concerns.
• Providing follow-up care and maintaining continuity of care for rostered and walk-in patients.
• Referring patients to medical specialists, hospitals, and other healthcare professionals when required.
• Providing counselling and education regarding disease prevention, treatment options, medications, nutrition, and healthy lifestyles.
