NHS Ayrshire & Arran is hiring a Family Nurse to provide home visiting services for first-time mothers. The role requires a registered nurse or midwife with experience in community health. Candidates will join a supportive team, contributing to improved outcomes for families while undertaking professional development.
Location: The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) bases are located in several different venues throughout Fife although this post is expected to be based in Dunfermline. However, FNP is a Fife-wide service and therefore all Family Nurses are required to travel throughout the locality of Fife.
Hours: Monday to Friday, Office Hours, Part-Time: 4 days per week
The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) is delighted to be recruiting a new Family Nurse to join one of our three existing teams.
FNP is a specialist intensive, voluntary home visiting service offered to all eligible first time mothers aged 20 years and under at LMP, and aged 25 and under if care experienced, from early pregnancy until the first child turns 2 years of age. The programme is underpinned by an internationally robust evidence base which shows it can improve health, social and educational outcomes in the short, medium and long term. The programme is delivered, alongside the universal Child Health Surveillance programme, by Family Nurses who also undertake the role of the Named Person for the child.
All Family Nurses are required to undertake mandatory education, some of which is residential, spanning over approximately 18 months. However alongside the mandatory education, there is now an opportunity to undertake a masters level Professional Diploma in Family Nursing. Whilst completing the FNP education nurses work autonomously, holding a caseload of up to 25 clients.
