Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and manage legal documents related to family law matters such as divorce, separation, custody, access, support, and property division.
  • Prepare financial statements, motion materials, affidavits, and court forms in accordance with the Family Law Rules.
  • Organize disclosure documents and mediation materials.
  • Maintain client files and case timelines, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff.
  • Schedule and coordinate court dates, client meetings, and mediations.
  • Provide administrative support to lawyers as needed.
Qualifications
  • Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent legal education.
  • At least 2 years of experience in family law within Ontario.
  • Strong understanding of the Family Law Rules and court procedures.
  • Proficiency with DivorceMate, Microsoft Office, and legal management software.
  • Excellent drafting, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple files independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential matters.
