Key Responsibilities
- Draft and manage legal documents related to family law matters such as divorce, separation, custody, access, support, and property division.
- Prepare financial statements, motion materials, affidavits, and court forms in accordance with the Family Law Rules.
- Organize disclosure documents and mediation materials.
- Maintain client files and case timelines, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Communicate professionally and promptly with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff.
- Schedule and coordinate court dates, client meetings, and mediations.
- Provide administrative support to lawyers as needed.
Qualifications
- Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent legal education.
- At least 2 years of experience in family law within Ontario.
- Strong understanding of the Family Law Rules and court procedures.
- Proficiency with DivorceMate, Microsoft Office, and legal management software.
- Excellent drafting, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple files independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential matters.
