The CANDORA Society of Edmonton (CANDORA) is seeking a motivated, collaborative person for a full-time Family & Community Resource Manager position. The Manager will supervise, support, and work alongside the other members of the Family and Community Resource Team to support participants to address their needs, access community resources, and navigate social supports. The Family and Community Resource Manager is responsible for supervising and supporting the Family and Community Resource Workers (FCRWs), providing individual support to CANDORA participants, coordinating support of complex cases, and coordinating documentation of case notes as part of reporting and evaluation. The Manager reports to the Director of Programs and Partnerships and works alongside a team of Managers in other program areas to provide wholistic supports to community members of Edmonton with a focus on the Northeast area.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Manager will work as part of the leadership team to plan, deliver, and coordinate supports and programs to the community.
  • Supervise and direct the Family and Community Resource Team.
  • Coordinate with the Adult Learning, Employment, and Child Development teams.
  • Working with individuals and families in the delivery of direct one on one support services.
  • Facilitate and coordinate support of complex cases.
  • Work with partner agencies, government systems, and the broader community to facilitate access to resources needed to support participants.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship for the Family and Community Resource Workers to build their capacity to address participant needs.
  • Work to ensure that one on one support practices align with best practices around diversity and inclusion and trauma informed care.
  • Coordinate the collection and maintenance of accurate records of participants.
  • Manage and distribute internal and external referrals from other agencies.
  • Respond to general inquiries and requests for support.
  • Manage case reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare written monthly review of activities and participate in all-staff meetings.
  • Work alongside the Director to prepare reporting for funders.
  • Facilitate weekly staff meetings.
  • Support in the development of processes and procedures for service delivery.
  • Attend meetings such as OH&S, funder and/or interagency.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

  • Degree or diploma in related human services field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in community work or community development will also be considered (if a social worker, must be an RSW).
  • Strong working knowledge of the broad range of community resources and mentoring on how to access the same.
  • Extensive individual and family support work experience.
  • Experience in non-profit is considered an asset.
  • Commitment to the vision, mission, values and beliefs of CANDORA.
  • Clear understanding of professional boundaries and ethics.
  • Strengths in relationship building, conflict resolution, and team building.
  • Orientation towards relationship based, reflective practice skills, and a strong commitment to community development.
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and team skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with MS Office computer applications and databases.
  • Clear Child and Youth Intervention Check and Criminal Record Check.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract.

Working Conditions

  • The FCRW works a regular full-time schedule of 35 hours per week and may be required to work some evenings and weekends to accomplish work responsibilities.
  • The FCRW will work both in an office setting, community settings, and non-standard workplaces.
  • This position is not eligible for a work from home or hybrid model.
  • The FCRW works to support people from vulnerable populations experiencing crises in a supportive and compassionate manner.

Employment Type: This is a permanent full-time position (35 hours/week) dependent on funding.
