Responsibilities
  • Conduct sampling, monitoring, and inspections along the Meliadine road and sites to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Install and oversee the implementation of mitigation measures to minimize environmental impact.
  • Draft detailed reports documenting findings and recommendations. Develop comprehensive work plans for environmental initiatives and projects.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating meetings with stakeholders to address reported issues and concerns.
  • Maintain open communication channels between the Environment Department and other relevant departments.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Environmental Science or a related field, or in an Environmental Technician college program or related field.
  • Student must be enrolled in a formal Co‑op program.
  • Demonstrated versatility and adaptability in conducting wildlife, vegetation, air, soil, and water sampling, along with other tasks related to mine sites and roads.
  • Strong ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as a member of a team.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to handle change.
  • Demonstrate a high level of energy, self‑motivation, and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal and written as well as presentation skills required.
  • Able to work outside in the summer and the winter.
  • Promote a safety mindset and approach to ensure that all projects and activities comply with safety regulations and AEM standards.
Your Work Schedule

Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest. Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
