Agnico Eagle is offering an internship opportunity in the Process Plant Maintenance Department aimed at students currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Job description

Your Contribution:

Reporting to the Process Plant Maintenance General Supervisor, the Process Plant Maintenance Intern is part of the Process Plant Maintenance Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.

  • Participate in the Process Plant Maintenance program implementation;
  • Prepare workshops for several improvement initiatives like the oil shop 5S project;
  • Communicate with suppliers to gather information on equipment;
  • Participate in the development of maintenance procedures;
  • Perform follow-ups on equipment performance: lubricant consumption, liner wearing monitoring;
  • Participate in the development of the corrosion mitigation program;
  • Support critical asset identification including piping as per P&ID review.

What You Need To Succeed:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or technical program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
  • Students must be enrolled in a formal Co-op program;
  • Completed a minimum of 2 years in a CEAB-accredited Engineering Program;
  • A strong ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as a member of a team is required;
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to handle change;
  • Demonstrate a high level of energy, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills;
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and written, as well as presentation skills;
  • Able to work outside in summer and winter;
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, and/or JDE;
  • Promote a safety mindset and approach to ensure all projects and activities comply with safety regulations and AEM standards.

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on-site at no cost. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and covers other travel expenses according to your residence in Canada.
