YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

As an Intern reporting to the Production Metallurgist, you'll be integrated into the Process Plant Department and collaborate closely with other Departments of the operation. Your role will involve ensuring the achievement of set goals and objectives while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental values.

  • Provide support to the metallurgy team in conducting laboratory tests and maintaining cleanliness in the lab environment.
  • Prepare and submit daily reports on mill production and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Assist with various mill projects, including trials related to media, reagents, and equipment.
  • Investigate issues during operational disruptions, carry out testing, and contribute to technical projects aimed at performance enhancement and target achievement.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as mill maintenance and operations, for the calibration and troubleshooting of the Stream Analyzer system.
  • Conduct monthly inventory sampling and reagent counting at the end of each month.
  • Offer technical support in metallurgy to assist mill operations effectively.
  • Execute specific surveys of the crushing, grinding, and CIP/stripping circuits to validate KPIs.
  • Enter project-related data accurately into the system.
  • Implement best practices in metallurgy and perform any additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Enrolled in a bachelor’sdegree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or related field;
  • Students must be enrolled in their university’s formal Co-op program.
  • Completed a minimum of 2-years in a CEAB accredited Engineering Program.
  • A strong ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as a member of a team is required.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to handle change.
  • Demonstrate a high level of energy, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and written as well as presentation skills required.
  • Promote a safety mindset and approach to ensure that all projects and activities carried out comply with safety regulations and AEM standards.

Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
