As an Intern reporting to the Environment Coordinator, you'll be part of the Environment Department and collaborate with other departments. Your role will involve achieving set goals while promoting and respecting our culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and environmental values.

Your tasks will include:

  • Carrying out air quality monitoring and water sampling programs;
  • Assisting with wildlife deterrent operations;
  • Assisting with spill response;
  • Conducting site inspections;
  • Assisting with wildlife and plant surveys;
  • Supporting hydrological monitoring.

What you need to succeed:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or technical diploma in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field;
  • Enrolled in your university’s formal Co-op program;
  • Versatile and adaptable in wildlife, vegetation, air, soil, water, and sampling work;
  • Mining experience is an asset;
  • Experience in multicultural environments is an asset;
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken;
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills;
  • Driver’s license required;
  • Water Craft Operator and Firearm Licenses are assets.

Note: The official working language at Hope Bay is English.

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 21 days of work, followed by 21 days off for transportation and rest;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on-site at no cost; flights to and from the mine are arranged by Agnico Eagle, with additional travel expenses covered based on your residence in Canada.
