Job description

Position Description:

CGI has a great opportunity for a co-op student to work with our Senior Program Leadership team, Quality Assurance Team, and project managers!

The ideal candidate will assist with small but important tasks and will learn about testing processes, testing management, and modern test management tools used in a complex business banking system hosted by CGI. The work will be intense and hectic but never boring!

To foster collaboration and partner with clients, co-op students will be required to be in the office multiple times a week.

Start Date: September 2025

Based on eligibility, candidates may participate in our NextGen Women in STEM Excel (WiSE) Co-op Program, designed to prepare future women leaders through mentorship, networking, and workshops.

The WiSE program includes onboarding activities, mentorship with women leaders, certification in ScaledAgile SAFe for Teams, networking events, learning plans, workshops, an AI hackathon, and opportunities for future employment at CGI.

Your future duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Document defects and support defect resolution.
  2. Create reports and dashboards for testing management and KPIs.
  3. Interact with teams to explain metadata over testing, defects, and processes.
  4. Understand client requirements and system specifications.
  5. Develop Java web applications and components following best practices.
  6. Create functional and technical documentation.
  7. Ensure quality through rigorous testing.
  8. Review peer code and suggest improvements.
  9. Maintain technical process documentation and knowledge libraries.
  10. Manage non-production code deployments or scripting automation.

Required qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a Co-op Accredited program.
  • Studying Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience in Object-Oriented Design, Java/JEE, Spring, JavaScript or Angular.
  • Strong database skills: SQL, PL/SQL, TSQL.
  • Experience with Eclipse IDE.
  • Desire to learn new technologies and domains.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently or in teams.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Good problem-solving and attention to detail.
