Qualifications

Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Engineering Purchaser

Position Details:
Number of Positions Available: 1
Position Type(s): Full-Time
Position Duration: Permanent
Staff Accommodation: Yes (subject to availability)
Wage Range: TBD Hourly

Job Overview:
Reporting to the Director, Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Monitor Dayforce daily to authorize activities from the previous day.
  2. Prepare and send Dayforce reports to Payroll bi-weekly.
  3. Input weekly schedules accurately and adjust for employee time-off requests in Watson / Unifocus.
  4. Generate purchase orders (POs) using Birchstreet.
  5. Coordinate order placements with suppliers using designated PO numbers.
  6. Establish and monitor vendors in CORA, ensuring vendor status is current.
  7. Manage daily operations within the CORA system.
  8. Verify invoices in CORA to ensure timely payment processing.
  9. Compile and distribute monthly financial reports to CASD.
  10. Consistently offer professional, engaging, and friendly service.
  11. Follow policies, procedures, and service standards.
  12. Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel vehicles.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
English Fluency Level: Advanced
Job Requirements:
Your experience and skills include:

  1. Relevant experience in a similar procurement or purchasing role.
  2. Strong knowledge of procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management.
  3. High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  4. Possession of a valid Alberta Driver's License.
  5. Familiarity with POMEC GL codes for accurate coding.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications required (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  7. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  8. Responsible and able to complete work without supervision.
  9. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  10. Highly responsible & reliable.
  11. Ability to work a variety of shifts.
  12. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  13. Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision.
