The Office of the Vice-President Academic and Provost (VPAC) is responsible for leading the academic mission of the university. Representing nearly 80 per cent of the university, VPAC supports all faculty, librarians, academic staff and students through leadership, training, resources, supports and services. VPAC oversees the general supervision of academic programs, long-range academic planning, faculty recruitment, retention and success, and student recruitment, retention and success.

Mandate
The Faculty Relations Consultant is central to the University of Victoria’s efforts to maintain and enhance its academic workforce. This role ensures the institution remains an attractive and supportive environment for faculty, librarians, and academic administrators. The consultant provides expert advice and strategic solutions to complex HR issues, including labor relations, compliance, and faculty development.

Job Requirements
This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a graduate degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resources with a relevant professional designation and five years of related work experience in a complex unionized organization. An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered.
