Position Summary

BCIT’s School of Business and Media is seeking a temporary, full-time (1.0 FTE ) Faculty from September 2025 to late May 2026 to teach in the marketing management diploma and provide related service teaching to other diplomas in the School in the areas of marketing essentials, sales skills, entrepreneurship, and business consulting. Courses are taught on weekdays, between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, in person and on campus in Burnaby.

Courses may include:


  • MKTG 1102 – Essentials of Marketing
  • MKTG 3334 – Business Negotiation Skills
  • MKTG 4690 – Marketing & Communications for Engineers
  • MKTG 4418 – Business Consulting Projects
Duties & Responsibilities

The hiring committee is seeking an industry expert with a passion for teaching and learning and strong commitment to ensuring students develop applied skills and specialized knowledge. Applicants should have 8+ years of experience in sales and marketing roles including developing marketing strategy, developing and deploying sales strategy, new venture creation, and business development.

The right candidate will demonstrate strong self-direction and leadership, the ability to adapt to new working environments quickly and self-sufficiently, and a commitment to the next generation of marketers and professional salespeople (as evidenced by mentoring or similar experience). They will also have experience in coaching, teaching, or managing teams on projects related to marketing strategy development and execution.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Marketing credential required; BCIT business diploma an asset.
  • A minimum of 8 years proven success working in related roles.
  • Instructional experience at a polytechnic or similar applied institution is preferred; and/or experience with professional coaching or other adult learning environments.
  • An established network of relevant professional contacts in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia, and beyond.
  • Excellent English-language communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a collegial environment.

Salary Range

Salary Range Salary Range: $65,045 - $113,545 per annum.

Additional Salary Information

Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
