Position Summary

BCIT’s School of Business and Media is seeking a temporary, part-time (0.73 FTE ) Faculty to teach in the marketing management diploma in the digital marketing and brand strategy option for the fall and winter terms (from September to mid-March) in the areas of campaign communications and creative process and production. Courses are taught on weekdays, between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, in person and on campus in Burnaby.

Courses may include:

Applicants must have a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in campaign communications, specifically within a public relations, communications, or integrated marketing agency environment. This role requires a deep understanding of agency dynamics, including managing multiple client accounts, leading cross-functional creative teams, navigating fast-paced timelines, and delivering strategic communications solutions across paid, earned, and owned media.

Candidates should have hands-on experience writing and evaluating creative briefs, producing content across digital platforms, and overseeing end-to-end execution of campaign deliverables. Proven experience pitching stories to the media, securing earned media coverage, and building relationships with journalists and influencers is essential. Experience developing integrated brand campaigns across lifestyle or consumer verticals—particularly where storytelling and design intersect—is a strong asset. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate both strategic insight and tactical proficiency, with recent, relevant examples of agency-led work. Experience in teaching, mentoring, or leading teams—particularly in a collaborative, creative setting—is also an asset.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • A minimum of 8 years’ proven success working in related roles.
  • Instructional experience at a polytechnic or similar applied institution is preferred; and/or experience with professional coaching or other adult learning environments.
  • An established network of relevant professional contacts in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia, and beyond.
  • Excellent English-language communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a collegial environment.

Salary Range

Salary Range Salary Range: $65,045 - $113,545 per annum.

Additional Salary Information

Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
