Job Description

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring Factory Labourers for a Forming Operator position for upcoming work in Southwestern Ontario. This position requires working 12-hour shifts, 7 days per week when assigned to a project. Full training will be provided.

Please note that this is a temporary contract position involving 84 hours of work per week when deployed to a project. It may not be suitable for individuals currently working full-time, in school, or seeking guaranteed steady employment.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly wage of $30.00 before overtime
  • Contract duration ranges from 1 to 120 days
  • Hotel accommodation provided when required
  • $30 per diem when lodging is required
  • Travel up to 4 hours when lodging is required

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Multi-tasking across various manufacturing tasks
  • Operate testing equipment such as Measurex & Cognex
  • Mix binder and troubleshoot related issues
  • Interpret SPC rules on mean charts and implement corrective actions
  • Package products and perform quality checks
  • Handle packaging setup, quality testing, and labeling using DSL systems
  • Perform startup and shutdown procedures for packaging equipment
  • Maintain quality standards, proper product identification, and weight
  • Operate forklift and other material handling machinery
  • Work with Wet Chop Machines
  • Ensure machinery safety and compliance with regulations
  • Perform general cleaning of plant and equipment
  • Assist with troubleshooting reliability issues
  • Perform other related duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Valid forklift license (preferred)
  • At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing or industrial settings
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Excellent interpersonal, technical, and communication skills
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • Availability for 12-hour shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Day shift (7 a.m. - 7 p.m.) or Night shift (7 p.m. - 7 a.m.)
