What To Expect

The Facility Technician will be responsible to operate a process (e.g. plant, treatment facilities), and ensure safe and reliable operations. This is a broadly skilled position and a qualified individual will perform all operational and troubleshooting tasks. This job is assigned a shift at a plant that is staffed around the clock every day.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform Startup, Shutdown, and operation of various equipment/systems including, but not limited to:
    • Gas compression, Cryogenic processing units, liquid handling systems
    • Treatment systems such as amine, glycol, etc.
    • Utility systems such as furnaces, hot oil, waste heat, Thermal Oxidizer, etc.
  • Conduct routine inspection and operation of dehydration systems
  • Operate storage and truck racks (such as condensate, wastewater, etc.)
  • Work with others to optimize processing throughout the facility and maintain proper product specifications
  • Respond to alarms and problems within the plant and make appropriate corrections
  • Conduct routine inspection of equipment and facilities (equipment health, security, AVO- Audio, Visual, Olfactory)
  • Perform a variety of Mechanical Maintenance and Repair duties such as:
    • Maintenance and repair of fixed equipment such as filters (all types), strainers, dehydration systems, etc.
  • Participate in and successfully complete training programs, risk management reviews, and safety meetings required to comply with state and federal regulations and company policy.
  • Review and follow procedures as necessary to ensure compliance of all company and industry standards to meet all regulatory agency requirements.
  • Accurately complete documentation such as timesheets, MAXIMO work orders, safe job plans/work permits and regulatory reports.
  • Optimize work in the most effective (efficient and leveraging priority) manner, in alignment with the Maintenance Work Process (MWP) and within the tenets of S.A.F.E. and Stop Work Authority.
  • Work autonomously at varying times and in diverse weather conditions.
  • Maintain facility appearance and safety through good housekeeping practices.
  • Perform and accurately document regulatory required inspections.
  • May oversee contractors providing specialty services (Quality Assurance, Quality Control).
  • Read and comprehend technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations.
  • Write technical reports and effectively present information to managers and general plant personnel.
  • Perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

    • Wear personal protective equipment, such as flame‑retardant clothing, eye protection, ear protection, steel‑toed boots, hard hat, etc.
    • Safely work around various types of rotating or moving equipment
What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred
  • 1 or more years of operational experience in the oil and gas industry
  • 1 or more years of experience in mechanical maintenance, instrumentation and electrical experience, or measurement
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Work well in both independent and team settings
  • Completion of Tech school training program
Compensation Range

The base pay range for this role is $70,200 – $114,400 depending on a candidate’s relevant work experience and education.

Midstream

The Phillips 66 Midstream business is a safe, reliable, and trusted provider for the movement, storage, gathering, and processing of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 70,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals.
