Description The Faculty of Kinesiology is currently seeking a Full-time Regular Facility Operator. The Operations Unit is responsible for maintaining and operating a 450 000 square foot multi-functional recreational facility plus outdoor playing fields, ensuring seamless operations for diverse user groups. Open 362 days a year, the Faculty of Kinesiology facilities serve approximately 2,000,000 visitors annually. The state-of-the-art kinesiology facilities include a diverse range of sports and athletic spaces, teaching and learning spaces, research spaces, clinical space, as well as offices and boardrooms. This AUPE position reports to the Director, Facilities and Operations and works closely with the Facilities Specialist and Facility Operator Team to ensure smooth facility operations and responsive client services. This position works primarily independently to accomplish tasks, and requires physical stamina, quick decision-making, effective stress management, and adaptability. This position includes a combination of scheduled work such as event setup for athletic and recreational activities and monitoring of building systems as well as real-time response to client needs and emergent maintenance issues. As such, the incumbent must be flexible to shift priorities and respond to tasks efficiently, effectively, and safely. This position is a part of the AUPE Collective Agreement, and works 37.5 hours per week,5 days a week shift, Thursday to Monday. Building hours for the Faculty of Kinesiology shift to accommodate business operations needs, and could range from 5:30am -11:00pm, 7 days per week. The schedule for this position may shift to accommodate business operations needs but will generally be a consistent 7.5 hours of work per day across 5 consecutive days. Occasionally, overtime work or non-standard work hours will be required.
