Your Opportunity at SECURE

The Facility Operator position is responsible for the day-to-day safe and customer service-oriented operations of waste treatment, oil treatment, and water injection. The Operator will actively assist with standard operating procedures, hazard assessments, safety programs, and environmental protection. The Operator will be in constant contact with customers and must demonstrate excellent communication skills and a high level of customer service.

This role is based out of Valleyview, Alberta.

Work Environment

This position involves a 12-hour shift schedule with 7 days on and 7 days off, alternating between days and nights.

A Day in The Life

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the facility
• Handling truck unloading, oil emulsion, and water & vac trucks
• Oil treating with the treater, cooler, or tank treating
• Participating in waste processing, waste and mud tank operation, shaker & centrifuge operations, and solids treating
• Managing receipt, storage, and transportation of crude oil while ensuring compliance with Measurement & Crude Oil Quality standards
• Managing water injection, filter changing, and pump maintenance
• Treating solids on the waste pad
• Operating boilers, testing, and managing steam systems
• Adhering to all corporate compliance programs
• Submitting truck tickets, daily plant checklists, and transfer reports to the office
• Participating in the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS)
• Operating waste plant equipment, ensuring solids processing meets landfill criteria and testing standards
• Following water injection SOPs and best practices to protect disposal well integrity
• Performing general maintenance and ensuring the plant remains clean and safe

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

• A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• At least 3 years of operational experience in waste processing and oil treating or water injection
• Experience in midstream terminal operations is a strong asset
• Specialized training in boilers, treaters, pumps, shaker/centrifuge, and loader is an asset
• Proven ability to demonstrate safety operations, oil treating & blending, waste processing, and water disposal processes
• Valid safety tickets including H2S Alive, First Aid Level One C, Confined Space Entry, WHMIS, and TDG
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work long hours in a demanding environment
• Ability to document work, communicate across shifts, and coordinate with stakeholders
• Excellent decision-making and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent customer service skills and safe work practices
• A valid driver’s license and successful pre-employment testing
