Job description

The Clean Harbors Corunna, ON facility is hiring a Shift Operations Manager for Lambton Facilities. This individual is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Incineration facility and helping generate ideas for unit performance improvement, as well as driving the successful implementation of those ideas by collaborating with operations, engineering, and senior leadership. They will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the unit.

This position involves 12-hour rotating shifts, working 2 days, 2 nights, followed by 4 days off.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure Health & Safety is the top priority at all times by auditing personnel and processes to ensure proper safety practices and policies are followed.
• Manage a shift of 5 incineration employees operating the Sarnia Incineration unit.
• Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and collaboration with operations staff, fostering a culture of improvement and safety.
• Cover immediate supervision needs for TDU and other site areas during nights and weekends.
• Monitor KPIs and work with operations to implement corrective actions as needed.
• Act as incident commander during on-site emergencies (training provided).
• Prepare daily reports for the incinerator and maintain a shift log of key events.
• Ensure all operations comply with permits, regulations, agreements, and codes.
• Investigate employee concerns and implement corrective actions.

Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of supervisory experience in an industrial operations environment, with a focus on performance improvement.
• Experience supervising in a union environment is an asset.
• Strong analytical skills with success in data-driven decision making and troubleshooting.
• Ability to promote continuous improvement through analysis, dedication, and attention to detail.
• Valid Full G Driver’s license required.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions for extended periods.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs regularly, climb ladders, bend, crouch, and stand for long periods.
• Capable of acting as Incident Commander in emergencies.
