Job summary

Magna Exteriors in Ontario, Canada, is seeking an experienced Millwright for a regular full-time role. The position focuses on building envelope maintenance, utilities, and facility systems within a dynamic automotive environment.

You will troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, dock and door systems, and electrical components, performing preventive maintenance and coordinating with contractors. Overtime may be required and a strong commitment to safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed Millwright (443A) required.
• Minimum five (5) years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• Dual-ticketed Millwright/Electrician is a plus.
• Grade 12 English and Math, or equivalent.
• Strong troubleshooting and independent work abilities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair building envelope, utilities, services, infrastructure, and related devices.
• Troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, dock/door systems, lighting, and facility equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance per schedule and procedures.
• Complete work orders, inspections, reports, and docs.
• Coordinate external contractors as needed.
• Coordinate facilities work with production to minimize disruption.
• Maintain 5S standards for a safe, organized workplace.
• Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
• Follow safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB:

• Immediate, open position
• $40.00 - $48.20 per hour
• Licensed Millwright (443A) required
• Minimum five (5) years of mechanical maintenance and repair experience
• Dual-ticketed Millwright/Electrician considered an asset
• Grade 12 English and Math, or equivalent
• Previous experience in facilities or building maintenance is an asset
• Strong working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical layouts, building construction drawings, and schematics
• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work on the production floor and provide support over the phone
• Willingness and ability to work overtime and extended hours as required
• Demonstrated contributions to improvements in safety, ergonomics, cost reduction, quality, and process stability

Main Duties

• Inspect, maintain, and repair building envelope, utilities, services, infrastructure, and related monitoring devices
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, dock and door systems, lighting, and other facility-related equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance activities in accordance with established schedules and procedures
• Accurately complete work orders, inspections, reports, and associated documentation
• Coordinate and oversee external contractors as required
• Coordinate facilities work with production and other internal departments to minimize disruption
• Maintain 5S standards, including a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Respond to breakdowns and facility-related issues in a timely manner
• Coordinate and oversee outside contractors when required
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and work orders
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Responsible for continuous improvement implementation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
