Job summary

Revera Inc. in Ottawa is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for Promenade Retirement Residence. The role focuses on routine repairs to electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems and general maintenance to keep resident comfort and safety a priority.

You will perform painting, carpentry, and grounds upkeep, inspect the facility regularly, and document costs and work performed while following safety rules and policies.

Qualifications

• Must follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Able to perform physical duties including lifting and moving objects.
• Familiar with minor repairs to facility and equipment.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, heating, water, gas and painting.
• Ability to track costs and maintain records for budgeting.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety practices.
• Vulnerable Sector Check within six months or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Executes routine repairs and minor maintenance on electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Paints, performs minor carpentry and maintains exterior grounds.
• Inspects premises for safety issues and reports findings to supervisor.
• Performs housekeeping and maintenance duties as needed.
• Upholds ethics, integrity and organizational values.
