One of the most important facility helper responsibilities is to maintains the shop in good condition and ensures a clean and safe environment for all occupants and visitors. The facilities assistant will identify maintenance issues and work as part of a team to correct the issues.

We’d like you to have include stamina and the ability to lift heavy loads. You should be able to concentrate on performing your tasks and commit to safety rules. If you fit this description, and you’re also interested in doing tough but important work, we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilities

• Janitorial maintenance.
• Help with maintenance of equipment.
• Cleaning offices, bathrooms, kitchen, and commons areas.
• Interior and exterior window cleaning.
• General building maintenance.
• Painting, minor carpentry repairs, minor equipment maintenance, lighting maintenance, organizing and maintaining an orderly workshop.
• Grounds maintenance.
• Equipment and tools maintenance.
• Assist in snow plowing, snow-blowing, shoveling, and ensuring safe walkways.
• Other tasks may be assigned.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Experience in maintenance, janitorial.
• Self-motivated individual with ability to manage his/her work load and shift priorities as necessary.
• Exhibits good judgment, self-confidence, cool headedness, and common sense.
• Must demonstrate competency using and maintaining hand tools and power tools.
