Position Summary :

We are seeking a full-time Facility Engineer to join our Facilities team in Calgary, Alberta. The Facilities team is a multi-disciplinary team using Agile Project Management. The Facility Engineer will assist with surface facility design execution, project optimization, cost reduction initiatives, vendor identification and selection, and technical inputs for regulatory applications. As the project progresses, the Facility Engineer will be engaged in detailed design, commissioning, and operations planning for E3’s operations, focusing on cost reduction and safe operation.

Mandate :

Execute Facility Engineering deliverables supporting the E3 surface facility team.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage various projects, establishing actions for successful completion.
  • Set acceptance criteria for contractor and fabricator selection.
  • Write clear scopes of work for third-party contractors.
  • Coordinate and communicate with project stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and internal teams, ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Review vendor and subcontractor quotations, drawings, and specifications for technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Support project execution during planning, design, and construction stages.
  • Review engineering deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, plot plans, etc.) for compliance, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct comparative studies and recommend options meeting economic goals.
  • Assess material choices for severe service environments.
  • Monitor project schedule and budget, identifying issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain design standards, specifications, and procedures.
  • Participate in risk management to mitigate safety, environmental, and operational risks.
  • Help develop intradepartmental processes to align teams and improve work execution.
  • Promote Agile methodology and foster a positive team culture.

Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 4 years of facilities project experience in manufacturing, power generation, oil and gas, or water treatment.
  • Mechanical engineering expertise is an asset.
  • Experience with Agile project execution is an asset.
  • Experience collaborating with operations teams is an asset.
  • Demonstrated engineering experience in areas like piping design, vessel design, acid gas compression, tank design, power generation, hydraulics, sour gas environments, materials, instrumentation, and risk assessments.
  • Knowledge of Alberta's OH&S, AER regulations, Pressure Vessel codes, and standards.
  • Ability to develop specifications for piping, valves, and equipment, or work with third parties to do so.
