Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking an experienced electrician to perform installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems up to 600V across facilities in North America. Responsibilities include wiring, conduit work, life safety systems and preventive maintenance.

The role requires certification as an electrician and a facility electrician certificate, with a focus on safety, reliability and timely completion of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Electrician Certification is required.
  • Facility Electrician Certificate is required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze electrical drawings to troubleshoot, repair and install components up to 600V.
  • Install electrical circuits and equipment including grounding, lighting and life safety systems.
  • Measure, cut, thread and install conduits and pull wiring through conduits, floors and walls.
  • Seal conduit penetrations through floors or fire separation walls with fire retardant sealant.
  • Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures, power equipment and components.
  • Mount motors, transformers and light fixtures and complete circuits per drawings.
  • Weekly test run of emergency diesel generator with building operators.
  • Inspect lighting, emergency power, alarm systems, HVAC, medical equipment and patient devices.
  • Trace, inspect and test circuits, instruments and fault conditions.
  • Isolate and repair source of trouble in electrical systems and replace faulty components.
  • Implement scheduled preventive maintenance for power equipment including transformers, breakers and switchgears, HVAC devices and sensors.
  • Keep work area orderly, clean and safe.

Job Description
  • Analyses electrical drawings, specifications and instructions totroubleshoots, repairs and replaces/installs components of normal andemergency power systems (up to 600V).
  • Installs electrical circuits and all types of electrical equipment andappliances including grounding leads, lighting fixtures, life safety systems,and other circuits as needed
  • Measures, cuts, threads and installs electrical conduits, pulling wiringthrough conduits, holes in walls and floors.
  • Ensures any conduit penetration through floors or fire separation walls issealed off with fire retarded sealant.
  • Splices, joins, and connects wire to fixtures, power equipment andcomponents.
  • Mounts motors, transformers, light fixtures into position and completecircuits according to drawings and specs
  • Weekly test run of emergency diesel generator in coordination with buildingoperators.
  • Inspects lighting system, emergency power system, alarm systems, HVAC system,medical equipment, patient’s electrical devices, etc.
  • Traces, inspects and tests circuits, instruments and faulty operations.
  • Isolates and repairs source of trouble and fault in electrical system and anytype of electrical equipment and control devices
  • Replaces and/or repairs faulty components including switches, sockets,ballasts, light bulbs/tubes and other simple elements of electrical systems.
  • Implement scheduled preventive maintenance program for power equipment suchas transformers, breakers, disconnects, capacitor banks and switchgears, HVACequipment's and devices such as motors, VFDs, controls and sensors, medicalgas system, alarm systems, communication system and medical equipment.
  • Keeping work area orderly, clean and safe.
  • Ensures proper care in the use of equipment and supplies.
