Job summary

Playground is an internationally renowned gaming destination just outside downtown Montreal, on Mohawk land in Kahnawake. We are expanding with new gaming floors, a luxurious hotel, and dining options, seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain safe, operational facilities.

Core duties include inspections, preventative maintenance of HVAC and generators, and supervising contractors when needed. You will work in a fast-paced environment with varied renovation tasks and heavy lifting requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance repairs across plumbing, electrical, painting, plastering and minor renovations.
• Able to perform routine inspections of premises and equipment.
• Capable of operating hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Bilingual French and English is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment including HVAC, generators, ventilation, etc.
• Handle everyday repairs and maintenance on site.
• Oversee contractors for professional repairs or servicing when needed.
• Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and correct them.
• Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
• Move gaming machines and tables.

Playground is an internationally renowned gaming destination located a short 15‑minute drive south of downtown Montreal, within the Mohawk territory of Kahnawake. We are currently expanding, unveiling new gaming floors, a luxurious hotel, and specialized dining options.

Position Overview

As a Facilities Technician, you will be the hands‑on expert responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the company’s buildings. Your role involves performing various maintenance tasks, including repairs, installations, and general maintenance duties. You will use practical skills to ensure our facilities are safe, fully operational, and visually appealing, providing a well‑maintained and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bilingual French and English (an asset) and must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have a valid work permit or be a Canadian resident
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects repeatedly as required
• Proven experience in a similar role (maintenance repairs in plumbing, electrical, painting, plastering and minor renovations)
• Related degree from a technical college (an asset)
• Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
• High degree of competency using common hand and power tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, etc.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices
• Experience performing routine maintenance
• Strong organizational and follow‑up skills, detail‑oriented
• Professional presentation and attitude
• Ability to maintain focus while working autonomously in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment
• Other considerations may be discussed: 24/7 availability, rotating shifts, overtime
