Job summary

Playground Poker in Quebec is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the outdoor spaces across all seasons. You will perform year-round landscaping, seasonal prep, and hands-on maintenance alongside the Facilities team to keep the grounds inviting and safe.

The role is full-time with weekend availability; we offer competitive pay starting at $23.00 per hour, flexible scheduling, paid training, and opportunities for career advancement, along with free parking and staff events.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and bilingual (French/English is an asset).
• Able to lift and move heavy objects repeatedly.
• Experience with landscaping, general maintenance and minor repairs.

• Reliable transportation and driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare outdoor areas for various weather conditions.
• Maintain parking lots and all outdoor grounds (shoveling, sweeping, etc.).
• Operate and maintain garden and landscaping equipment.
• Weatherproof areas, cover outdoor furniture with tarps, tie-down unsecured items.
• Install seasonal decor (outdoor Christmas decorations, signage, etc.).
• Maintain gardens and lawns including planting, fertilizing, weeding, soil conditioning, mulching and applying pesticides.
• Identify and diagnose issues and correct them.
• Other tasks and outdoor repairs as required.

Playground is an internationally renowned gaming destination located a short 15-minute drive south of downtown Montreal, within the Mohawk territory of Kahnawake. We are currently expanding, unveiling new gaming floors, a luxurious hotel, and specialized dining options.

Position Overview:

As a Groundskeeper, you'll be our outdoor maintenance expert, ensuring the pristine condition of our facilities' grounds throughout all four seasons. Your role involves year-round landscaping, seasonal preparations, and hands-on outdoor maintenance. You'll need to adapt to the ever-changing weather conditions while maintaining the safety and aesthetics of our outdoor spaces. Working alongside the Facilities team, your dedication will play a crucial role in providing an inviting and well-kept environment for everyone.

Full-time, Full Availability, Must be available weekends

En travaillant aux côtés de l’équipe des installations, votre dévouement jouera un rôle crucial en offrant un environnement accueillant et bien entretenu pour tous.

Responsabilités :

• Préparer les aires extérieures pour diverses conditions météorologiques
• Entretenir les stationnements et tous les terrains extérieurs (pelletage, balayage, etc.)
• Utiliser et entretenir les équipements de jardinage et d’aménagement paysager
• Protéger les zones contre les intempéries, couvrir les meubles extérieurs avec des bâches, attacher les articles non sécurisés
• Installer le décor saisonnier (décorations de Noël, signalisation, etc.)
• Entretenir les jardins et les pelouses, notamment planter, fertiliser, désherber, conditionner le sol, pailler et appliquer des pesticides
• Identifier et diagnostiquer les problèmes et les corriger
• Autres tâches et réparations extérieures selon les besoins

Exigences :

• Bilingue français et anglais (un atout) et doit être âgé d’au moins 18 ans
• Capacité de soulever et de déplacer des objets lourds à plusieurs reprises, selon les besoins.
• Expérience en aménagement paysager, en entretien général et en réparations mineures à la maison
• Aptitude à utiliser divers outils manuels et équipements électriques
• Hautement motivé et capable de travailler de façon autonome
• Faire preuve d'initiative, de responsabilité et de flexibilité
• Capacité à effectuer plusieurs tâches et à établir des priorités
• Transport fiable et permis de conduire
