The University of Alberta Hospital is seeking an experienced Facilities Technician to join our Commissioning team within the Facilities Maintenance & Engineering Department. The role involves collaborating with various project and facility groups to ensure successful project completion. Responsibilities include attending project walkthroughs and meetings, providing feedback during all project phases, maintaining logs of active projects, and communicating concerns to stakeholders. The technician should have a solid understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Architectural components within a facility setting, contribute to trade discussions, review documentation, and ensure compliance with infection control standards. Regular meetings with management to report project concerns are also expected.
Role Description:
This is a Journeyperson level position responsible for preventive maintenance, inspection, and repair of building interiors and exteriors. The successful candidate will manage small FME projects, provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and review project drawings and commissioning processes. The Facilities Technician works independently within established guidelines, taking initiative within assigned tasks.

Required Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent, and completion of an accredited Journeyperson Certificate in a related field.
Additional Qualifications:
Journeyperson Certificate in a recognized trade and proven experience in facility project commissioning.
Preferred Qualifications:
Facility Commissioning Certification.
