Overview

The Facilities Project Management Office (FPMO) is seeking an experienced Facilities Systems Operator (CADD Operator) with strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders, and the initiative to work independently with minimal supervision. The role involves developing SickKids base drawing records and integrating documents with the CMMS through BIM, with meticulous attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills. The incumbent will learn the applications required to develop and implement this system and will manage a varied workload with excellent organizational skills. The role also involves developing a robust electronic data file system and coordinating integration between applications to transform drawings and documents into BIM models for facilities operations, project Horizon and the FPMO teams.

Major Accountabilities
  • Review and redevelop the electronic file structure and system for the department for efficiency and easy retrieval.
  • Review all current hard copy documents, drawings, plans, etc. and determine which documents may be disposed of, electronically archived, and / or transferred.
  • Develop, maintain and update a BASE set of record documents / models for all buildings across the SickKids campus and leased facilities.
  • Develop SickKids drawing / model file standards for consultants and contractors to meet for consistent document management.
  • Develop how data will be stored and retrieved within BIM or other systems to enable timely information access for facilities operations, Project Horizon and FPMO teams.
  • Maintain the file share system to provide secure third‑party transfer and sharing of files.
  • Electronically catalogue and file project closeout documentation and maintain the master baseline drawings / models.
  • Identify space perimeters and gross floor areas to support space management protocols.
  • Act as the central conduit for the FPMO and Project Horizon teams to provide data, drawings / models, and archived building information as required.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for CAFM activities and develop processes for robust documentation shared with third‑party service providers.
  • Liaise with Information Services and software suppliers on IS issues or problems.
  • Oversee FPMO business ownership strategy, support decision‑making for lockers and related software, and work with space management to manage locker allocation and reporting.
  • Maintain current licenses and upgrades for all departmental applications and develop required space reports and analyses.
  • Learn and use third‑party applications as required.
  • Other duties that support the objectives of the FPMO as required.

  • Experience with AutoCAD / Revit / BIM for facilities management and asset management
  • Preferred experience managing Archibus database for space management and CMMS
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical drawings, shop drawings and specifications
  • Ability to write routine reports, operating instructions, and correspondence
  • Ability to present drawings and reports effectively
  • PC skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to learn new software and adapt to new tools
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure with competing priorities
