Job summary

The Canadian Opera Company invites applications for a full-time Facility Steward at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. Reporting to Facilities Management, you will support building services, maintain spaces, manage deliveries, and assist with events to ensure a superior guest experience.

This in-person role requires physical work, evening/weekend shifts, and collaboration with security and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams).
• Experience in facility maintenance or building services.
• Familiarity with basic carpentry, repairs, and building equipment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor building condition and perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain inventory control and distribute building supplies and consumables.
• Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including snow removal and cleaning.
• Install and maintain all signage.
• Assist with setup and teardown of performances and events.
• Accept deliveries and coordinate vendor access to the building.
• Conduct building patrols and report safety issues or maintenance concerns.
• Support emergency procedures including fire safety inspections and incident response.
• Maintain facility logs and records.
• Collaborate with security, housekeeping, and operations teams to maintain readiness.
