Job description

City Experiences is seeking a Facilities Shift Manager for our City Cruises operation in Niagara Falls.

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity :

The Facilities Shift Manager is a hands-on manager responsible for ensuring that all buildings, structures, properties, and equipment are in good working order and visually appealing at all times. This includes the ticket plaza, group booth, lower landing, administrative offices, warehouse, vehicles, elevators, and funicular.

The Facilities Shift Manager will conduct preventative, corrective, emergency, cosmetic, and routine maintenance including painting, cleaning, repairing, renovating, and remodeling when required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Ensure the safe and reliable operation of all systems, machinery, and equipment under their care, following Niagara City Cruises (NCC) ISO Respect Management System (RMS)
  • Supervise General Maintenance Technicians, Cleaners, and Environmental Service Agents, ensuring safety and efficiency, and provide performance feedback to the Manager, Facilities
  • Report concerns with personnel and equipment to the Manager, Facilities
  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements, including Transport Canada standards
  • Drive company vehicle for deliveries such as ponchos from warehouse to site
  • Use company truck and equipment for winter road and site maintenance
  • Operate forklifts, telehandlers, and aerial work platforms as required
  • Assist with project planning and execution
  • Provide guidance to contractors as needed
  • Inspect equipment and facilities for unsafe conditions
  • Communicate updates on repairs and shutdowns
  • Maintain high customer service standards
  • Perform startup and shutdown procedures
  • Assist with accident investigations and reports
  • Participate in emergency drills and safety meetings
  • Maintain logs and utilize maintenance software
  • Manage inventory of spares and consumables
  • Prepare reports for the Manager, Facilities
  • Operate the funicular as needed
  • Maintain a clean workplace
  • Perform duties such as cleaning, painting, troubleshooting
  • Report non-conformities
  • Support other departments as required
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and PPE policies
  • Maintain professional appearance and punctuality
  • Understand and follow all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain necessary licenses and certifications
  • Perform any other duties assigned

Requirements & Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent recognized by the Ministry of Education
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in facilities or maintenance operations
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • Certifications such as Forklift, Aerial Work Platform, Working at Heights, Confined Space are assets
  • WHMIS training (provided)
  • Knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out Systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors repeatedly
  • Willingness to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Experience with ISO standards is an asset
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and work in various weather conditions
  • Use of PPE as required
