Job description

POSITION: Facilities-Ramp Attendant

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent, Full Time

LOCATION: Pitt Meadows, BC

REPORTS TO: VP of Operations

COMPANY HISTORY:

Founded in 1988, Montair was established with the goal of training future professional pilots to a skill and knowledge level that would allow them to serve the airline industry with minimal further training required.

Our purpose-built facilities at the Pitt Meadows Airport (CYPK) allow pilot training for students from Canada and around the world with clean and modern classrooms equipped with the latest technology, multi-crew simulator, and a fleet of aircraft equipped with state of the art instrument and navigation equipment.

Montair continues to expand its training program both in terms of student capacity and the acquisition of additional training assets.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  1. Marshaling and towing of aircraft for departures/arrivals and fueling.
  2. Ability to work under tight time constraints to accomplish quick turnaround of aircraft.
  3. Ensures readiness and replenishment of de-icing equipment is complete during the winter operations.
  4. Ensures Health and Safety standards and rules are both met and adhered to.
  5. Deliver high quality service to students.
  6. Assist with facility/hangar maintenance and organization.
  7. Actively supports the company Safety Management System by participating in the program and acting appropriately for their role as defined within the Operations Manual.
  8. Perform interior and exterior maintenance including painting, general landscaping, snow removal, and small construction related projects, as requested.
  9. Inspect the grounds every morning, removing debris to ensure high level curb appeal.
  10. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Basic landscaping and building maintenance preferred.
  • Aviation maintenance an asset but not mandatory.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrates the ability to take initiative and maintains a sense of urgency to drive change.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Able to lift heavy equipment and appliances using the proper tools and safety equipment.
  • Be willing and able to work in an outdoor environment.
  • Prior Aviation experience preferred, but not required.
  • Valid Class 5 Provincial Driver’s License with access to a reliable vehicle.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, sit, stand, walk, reach, lift, pull, push, balance, crouch, crawl, and kneel.
  • May be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions, chemical hazards, respiratory hazards, extreme cold for more than 1 hour at a time, and/or extreme heat for more than 1 hour at a time.
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Positive hands-on training.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, work on ladders, and in confined spaces.
