Type: Internal & External Candidates– Full-Time (Indeterminate)
Hours of Work: Ave.40 hr. per week; Monday through Friday (from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
Compensation: $62,000 - $65,000 annually, plus a generous leave, benefits and pension package - Classification of job is in process.
Program & Location: Administration Office– Downtown Eastside, Vancouver

About the Job:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of the physical assets and facilities operated by Atira Women’s Resource Society. Works collaboratively with Atira’s Executives, Directors, Operations, Program Managers, support staff, and other stakeholders. They coordinate scheduling, logistics and budgets to ensure the successful delivery of facility maintenance to all sites. Ensures all facilities are run in a professional and efficient manner and in compliance with Atira’s policies and philosophy and are suitable working and living environments for program participants, tenants and employees. The Facilities Manager coordinates and sees through the work of contractors - maintaining strong working relationships, and reviewing and approving completed work. She produces, implements and manages planned maintenance programs. Involved in both planning and the day-to-day operations of Atira’s facilities and premises. They are involved in the recruitment, training & staff development, and performance management of Facilities Coordinator(s) within their portfolio. The Facilities Manager holds the confidentiality of the organization and its clients as sacrosanct and respects this confidentiality absolutely.


About You:
You are an organized and competent professional with excellent communication skills. You are comfortable dealing with people and able to carry out administrative duties with accuracy, speed, privacy, and confidentiality. Your goal is to ensure the department operations are efficient and add maximum value to the Society.

You are a detail-oriented person who can prioritize and manage your time well and is committed to attending work regularly and on time. Your enthusiasm and eagerness to learn/grow are your most important attributes for the position. You are proficient and confident in using diverse computer software’s, most specifically Microsoft Office/Outlook, and can learn how to operate new software’s quickly. Experience using a property management software is an asset. You have a basic understanding of standard building components, structures, and systems. You are a feminist, passionate about the work of ending violence against women and children.

Additional Requisites/Assets:
• A certificate or diploma in Facilities Management from a recognized post-secondary institution
• Minimum of three years working in facilities management in a related residential setting, or three years working in a non-profit supportive housing facility.
• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Class 5 Driving License is required
• WHMIS Workplace Safety Core Training
• Covid-19 and annual flu vaccinations are recommended
• All positions are subject to a Criminal Records Review (Paid by Atira)
• Eligible to work in Canada.
