About the Role :

Manage the Facilities for Ferrero Canada Industrial Division and operational activities and assignments for various contractor maintenance and physical plant related services including : external warehouse, landscaping of all Ferrero site, parking lot safety and security. Coordinate work order priorities with the direction of the UGP Manager and Maintenance Department Head. Enforce and promote all company guidelines, policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities :

SYSTEM REVIEW

  • Establish, organize and manage the implementation of programs for periodic, routine and extraordinary review of the facilities maintenance systems;
  • Identify new opportunities for improving service methods and procedures.

TECHNICAL & SUPPLIER EVALUATION

  • Ensure technical evaluation of supplier proposals for the provision of systems and services;
  • Prepare formal bids for mechanical, plumbing, electrical maintenance or other related supplies, equipment, and work.

FACILITIES / PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure optimal building management and preventative maintenance programs;
  • Possess extensive knowledge of civil, mechanical, and electrical systems including refrigeration, electrical distribution, chiller / heating plants, HVACS, BAS, emergency generator, sprinklers and fire alarms.
  • Ensure the monitoring of maintenance work undertaken by external companies in order to guarantee optimal execution of the Ferrero Facilities including the DC;
  • Ensure optimal facilities maintenance of : external warehouse, landscaping of all Ferrero site, parking lot safety and security;
  • Exercise direct supervision of new investments, fabricating, maintaining and repairing of building(s);
  • Coordinate contractors on all physical plant designs, construction and building maintenance;
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work;
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, policies and procedures, etc.;
  • Ensure the proper documentation relating to internal and external audits;
  • Ensure the archiving of documentation relating to certificates of inspection obtained from external entities.

BUDGET

  • Participate in the development and planning of the facilities budget;
  • Direct the monitoring of and approve expenditures; recommend adjustments or improvements as required;
  • Participate in and review the energy budget with Senior Management;
  • Identify opportunities for improving and development of energy savings;
  • Direct ongoing cost control measures regarding all activities pertaining to the Ferrero Facilities
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to guarantee the continuous improvement of all the internal and external sanitation issues with the building.

HEALTH & SAFETY / ENVIROMENT

  • Ensure the necessary actions to guarantee safe work conditions compliant with individual and environmental safety;
  • Participate and review with H&S all plans for continuous improvement of building and production area safety;
  • Participate in a variety of professional group committees / meetings regarding Facilities H&S and environmental matters;
  • Represent the company with H&S when dealing with the fire department, public utility representatives, etc., in matters relating to physical plant systems (waste, water, fire, emissions, etc.);
  • Establish plans for improving building security utilizing and customizing Ferrero Group procedures and guidelines;
  • Supervise maintenance of security alarm and video surveillance system installations, upgrades, and changes;
  • Guarantee the maintenance of permanent audio and video systems for emergency planning.
  • Gather and maintain information for SMETA, FM Global, CPTAT, and related audits.

ENVIRONMENTAL

  • To assist in the implementation of and conformance to the Environmental Management System within key process areas, i.e. ISO 14001 certification.

Who we are looking for :

Knowledge Requirements

  • 8-11 years of experience
  • Knowledge of Ferrero product technology, process and food sector;
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation and coordination of external contractors.
  • Knowledge of TSSA, ESA, NFPA, and understanding of building codes.

Education

  • Post-High School / Associate’s Degree
