Job description

Salary Range : $50,000 - $56,000 (dependent on experience)

A Day in the Life :

The full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician will report to the Regional Manager Facilities and will be responsible for maintaining all equipment and systems at the Hertz Airport car rental location.

Key responsibilities include operating and maintaining buildings, systems, and equipment across various car rental locations, interpreting technical issues to prevent downtime, and proactively addressing building, equipment, and maintenance issues. The role also involves developing strong relationships with business unit customers and stakeholders, performing administrative duties, working with tools to complete work orders, and maintaining maintenance metrics.

What You’ll Do :

Key responsibilities :

  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, including nights, weekends, and holidays, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Coordinate and perform preventive maintenance to minimize business interruption and ensure longevity of buildings, systems, and equipment.
  • Perform minor construction tasks as directed by Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician and Facilities Management.
  • Maintain and record data in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track maintenance history, plans, and labor hours.
  • Monitor service providers to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
  • Ensure that facilities meet the required standards for the business units.
  • Adhere to facilities standards for consistent maintenance service delivery.
  • Manage ongoing maintenance standards, quality, and costs for service providers.
  • Support asset assessment programs to inform capital planning and risk mitigation.
  • Report facilities programs and issues accurately and promptly to Facilities Management.
  • Travel within the province of Quebec as required.

What We’re Looking For :

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least four years of experience in a similar role working with service providers.
  • Experience in building and grounds maintenance.
  • Knowledge of systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, car washes, vacuum systems, and fuel stations.
  • Experience in construction, repair, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency with CMMS and PC skills including email, Word, and Excel.
  • Understanding of environmental considerations.
  • Effective communication skills with stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and in teams.
