Job summary

Regina Police Service is seeking a Facilities Services Technician to perform mechanical and building repairs across police facilities, including boiler and HVAC system maintenance.

Responsibilities include plumbing, electrical tasks, drywall, painting, and furniture moves, plus grounds work and snow removal. Certifications in power engineering and refrigeration are required, along with WHMIS/OHS knowledge and a valid Class 5 license. Competitive salary for permanent staff.

Qualifications

  • Certification from Boiler and Pressure Vessels Branch for 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate and Refrigeration Operator’s Certificate.
  • Knowledge of safe working requirements including WHMIS and OH&S.
  • Must be able to use a variety of hand and power tools; handle cleaning products and operate various equipment.
  • Must possess physical strength, mobility and flexibility to perform duties including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to make sound decisions for repair, maintenance and monitoring of building equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and assist in operating, monitoring, servicing and repair of heating, cooling, humidification and dehumidification equipment.
  • Perform building repairs, plumbing, electrical tasks, drywall, painting and minor construction.
  • Move furniture and set up conference rooms.
  • Maintain grounds including mowing, gardening and snow removal.
  • Respond to loading dock deliveries and assist service providers as needed.
  • Work days, weekends and holidays with minimal supervision and in a team.
