Job summary

CoolIT Systems Inc., a Calgary-based leader in direct liquid cooling solutions, seeks a will-equipped Facilities & Maintenance Lead to drive preventive and corrective maintenance for our manufacturing operations. You will lead a hands-on team, coordinate external contractors, and ensure reliability of HVAC, electrical, and automation systems.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in maintenance leadership within manufacturing, knowledge of PLCs/robotic automation, and strong CMMS experience.

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management.
  • Experience supervising a maintenance team in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with robotic automation & PLCs, and ability to read control schematics.

  • Monitor building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, fire suppression.

  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues and support 24/7 operations.

Job description

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Role: We are seeking a talented Facilities & Maintenance, Lead to join our Facilities team. We are looking for someone with supervisory manufacturing experience and commitment to preventative maintenance & expansion. This role will report to the Facility Maintenance Manager and will be integral to an efficient manufacturing operation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the maintenance team in performing day to day preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and ongoing production expansion with facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment malfunctions, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Assist in coordinating external contractors for specialized services, repairs, and facility upgrades.
  • Monitor and maintain building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, and fire suppression.
  • Maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track & review work orders, maintenance schedules, and equipment history.
  • Support in root cause analysis (RCA) efforts for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels of critical spare parts and consumables.
  • Develop and deliver training for maintenance staff to build technical skills and ensure safe work practices.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues and support on-call 24/7 operations as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-based systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of building infrastructure systems including HVAC, compressed air, water, and electrical distribution.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and equipment specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to quickly identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and develop technical staff.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic project management tools
WHO YOU ARE
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisor Role/Lead Experience.
  • Experience in maintenance, manufacturing.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing industrial machinery.
  • Experience with Robotic Automation & PLCs, Control Schematics.
  • Scissor Lift experience.
