Facilities Driver

The Facilities Driver will be responsible for supporting the Facilities Maintenance team with loading and unloading food deliveries daily to and from our Crisis Shelter and our Hub building, picking up orders from various locations and unloading deliveries. This role will work part-time and will report to the Supervisor of Maintenance. As a member of a dynamic team, knowledge of, and adherence to, YW policies and procedures and Occupational Health and Safety standards and are required.

This part-time, contract position is based at both our YW Calgary Hub (1715 17 Ave SE) and Crisis Shelter (2003 16 St SE) locations. The role requires the ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs from waist height, sit for extended periods while driving, and complete repetitive tasks.

WHAT YOU'LL DO :

• Food Deliveries – careful delivery of food in food trays from YW Crisis Shelter commercial kitchen to YW Hub for distribution.
• Order pick-up – picking up orders from various locations as needed when supply chain orders are sent in.
• Deliveries – unloading a variety of deliveries as needed
• Foster and contribute to a culture of inclusion and equity in a diverse work environment; understand and recognize that individual differences significantly contribute to YW Calgary’s success.
• Integrate equity, diversity and inclusion principles into one’s role, work, and engagement with others, as aligned with YW Calgary’s EDI strategy and values.

• Take personal accountability in creating a physically and psychologically safe workplace at the team and organizational level.
• Other tasks as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL BRING :

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• 1 year + previous delivery driver experience
• Familiarity with Microsoft Teams & Outlook
• Some technical experience / understanding how to use cell phone applications
