Job summary

Convergint is recruiting a Facilities Building Operator for our Suncor Firebag In-Situ site in Alberta. This FIFO 14/14 rotation includes camp accommodations.

You will perform daily building walkthroughs, coordinate with occupants and operations teams, and carry out minor HVAC and plumbing maintenance under supervision. Successful candidates will hold a 4th Class Power Engineering certificate and ABSA registration, with at least 5 years in building operations, strong safety knowledge, and good

Qualifications

• 4th Class Power Engineering certificate from a Canadian institution.
• ABSA registration as a 4th Class Power Engineer.
• Minimum 5 years of building operator experience.
• Experience isolating mechanical piping components.
• Experience operating heating plants.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand floor plans.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily building walkthroughs and correct deficiencies.
• Liaise with Building Operations Admins and occupants daily.
• Assist with minor HVAC and plumbing maintenance tasks.
• Develop contingency plans for HVAC and write procedures.
• Respond to service requests and ensure follow-up.
• Use SAP to process work notifications and track requests.
• Maintain logs and ABSA-related readings for heating plants.
• Isolate/de-isolate mechanical piping components.
• Coordinate shut downs/starts of building utilities.
• Ensure safety policies are followed and participate in toolbox talks.
