Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Snow removal (airside and groundside) including proficient and safe use of equipment such as shovels, sweepers, tractors, spreaders, skid loaders, and compact tractors.
- Perform lawn maintenance, landscaping, and groundskeeping.
- Conduct daily janitorial services and duties.
- Maintain an organized system for all documentation, parts, tools, and safety equipment.
- Assist with issuance, return, and maintenance of security key cards.
- Perform routine building maintenance, property inspections, repairs, and services.
- Perform or facilitate minor maintenance work including painting and moving furniture.
- Sign in/out and escort contractors as per Skyservice security policies.
- Assist in correcting findings from in-house and contractor inspections.
- Inspect buildings and structures to detect malfunctions, security concerns, fire prevention, H&S concerns, troubleshoot, and identify repairs.
- Participate in scheduling and coordination of annual facility inspections.
- Support the team in safety and security audit processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of employment experience.
- Valid G driver’s license.
- Must pass police background check to secure Airport Restricted Area ID Card.
- Experience operating light and medium equipment.
- Intermediate understanding of electrical, plumbing, tiling, HVAC systems preferred.
- Experience with a variety of hand and electric tools is an asset.
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs or more.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work varying hours including nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Willing and able to be on call 24/7 from April to October.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently with a customer service mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to understand and follow directions with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to organize time and tasks effectively.
- Able to work in all extreme weather conditions (snow, slush, ice, freezing rain, hail, sub-zero temperatures).
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical college or post-secondary education is an asset.
