Job description

Job Type: Full-Time Permanent

Starting Salary: $52,201 per annum

This position is responsible for managing, carrying out, and supporting the general maintenance, renovations, and repairs of a single site, including the Casino facilities, parking lots, and outside grounds. Ensures building operations and construction standards are maintained throughout the facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees day-to-day operations and maintenance of all building systems including electrical, mechanical, life safety, Building Automation System (BAS), and related systems, along with minor repairs, general maintenance, daily inspections, grounds, and landscape maintenance.
  • Provides technical on-site support for construction, development, and renovation projects.
  • Manages and supervises work of outside contractors.
  • Evaluates, prepares, and negotiates maintenance contracts for HVAC, waste disposal, landscaping, and cleaning.
  • Manages and supervises direct reports through leadership, delegation, training, feedback, and coaching.
  • Ensures effective implementation of preventive maintenance programs, especially for key systems like HVAC, UPS/genset, and elevators/escalators.
  • Plans, forecasts expenditures, and develops an annual budget; reconciles spending periodically.
  • Prepares purchase orders and ensures invoicing is price-checked, approved, and processed efficiently.
  • Reviews and updates maintenance records for critical systems.
  • Develops incident reports for site maintenance issues.
  • Responds promptly to emergencies or urgent issues.

What You Bring

  • 2-3 years of experience in progressively responsible facilities maintenance roles
  • Trades certification or engineering diploma preferred
  • Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry/millwork, painting, and physical assets
  • Valid provincial driver’s license and good driving record
  • Knowledge of HVAC, chiller operations, UPS, EPS, and automated building and lighting control systems
  • Proven customer service and follow-through skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
